Christmas 2008

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. Max and Charlee were a lot of fun. Charlee got a dollhouse and Max got a basketball goal and lots of sporty balls. He is really into throwing things these days and is constantly saying "ball." He is definitely all boy!

We travel to SC to visit family and got to see almost all of my family. Andy, Courtney, and John Andrew were in Boston with Courtney's family. We missed seeing them.

Jeff got Guitar Hero - World Tour. Max and Charlee are now rock stars!!

Summertime

It's hot, it's Florida, it's still summer! We had a fabulous summer going to my parents, to the beach, and to the mountains. My car earned a lot of miles but it was so worth it.

The love between siblings

I love watching Charlee play with Max. She is always making him laugh. And watches him like a hawk - especially when he has one of her toys. Take a look at some of my favorite pictures of them together.

"Are we there yet?"

So we went home to Orangeburg 2 weekends ago. The reason for our trip was to celebrate the wedding of an old friend - Albert. So glad he met someone as wonderful as Donna. Anyway, we left after work on Thursday and it proceeded to rain the entire trip. I started out driving while Jeff sat in the back occupying the children. He thought he pulled the easy shift, but Max and Charlee had different plans for Daddy. Max screamed and Charlee kept asking him, "Are we there yet?" And when he told her, "No, baby." She promptly responded, "You don't tell me 'No,' Daddy?" Wonder where she's heard that before??? Jeff maybe?

Our time at home was a whirlwind. On Friday, we met David and Courtney and John Andrew for lunch. Then we met Leslie and Carlysle at EdVenture - the children's museum in Columbia. We had so much fun. Carlysle loved visiting the cow and said "Moo" about every 5 minutes. There is a mini grocery store there and Charlee had fun filling up her grocery cart and then checking out. She even knew how to pay with a "credit card." She swiped her little fingers down the reader. Wonder where she's seen that before??? Me maybe?

After we had successfully worn out all of the children, we traveled to Lexington to meet Joey and tour his new pediatric office. It won't be open until May but it looks great. I am so proud of my little brother. Wish we lived closer. We could visit "Dr. Uncle Joey."

On Saturday, we met Dad, Gail, Michael, Amy, Campbell, and Frances for lunch at Dukes barbeque. Our trip wouldn't be complete without at least one trip to get barbeque. Later that night, Jeff and I headed to Columbia for Albert and Donna's reception. It was fun. But I missed my kids. Max gave Mom a hard time. He really is a "Momma's boy" now.

On Sunday, we headed home and heard from Charlee, "Are we there yet?" about every 30 minutes. What a fun trip! Can't wait until the next one.

Max's check-up

So today we visited the doctor for Max's 4 month check-up. Our little boy is really that little. It turns out that he has already doubled his birth weight - weighing in at 16lbs 10oz. And he's grown 5 inches. He's a chunk! But so lovable!!!

Lately, we've had some bad nights. Max is going through a nursing strike which isn't so much fun for me and Jeff. I'm hoping it will pass quickly. I miss cuddling with him. Doctor checked for an ear infection and saw what appears to be residual fluid from a cold but he says it should go away on its own. Max has already been on an antibiotic all week. Maybe he's teething - he sure likes chewing on hands and fingers lately. One article I read said to slightly freeze a rolled up wash cloth and give that to him before I nurse him and that should numb his gums. I will try tonight. At this point, I am willing to try anything.
