So we went home to Orangeburg 2 weekends ago. The reason for our trip was to celebrate the wedding of an old friend - Albert. So glad he met someone as wonderful as Donna. Anyway, we left after work on Thursday and it proceeded to rain the entire trip. I started out driving while Jeff sat in the back occupying the children. He thought he pulled the easy shift, but Max and Charlee had different plans for Daddy. Max screamed and Charlee kept asking him, "Are we there yet?" And when he told her, "No, baby." She promptly responded, "You don't tell me 'No,' Daddy?" Wonder where she's heard that before??? Jeff maybe?
Our time at home was a whirlwind. On Friday, we met David and Courtney and John Andrew for lunch. Then we met Leslie and Carlysle at EdVenture - the children's museum in Columbia. We had so much fun. Carlysle loved visiting the cow and said "Moo" about every 5 minutes. There is a mini grocery store there and Charlee had fun filling up her grocery cart and then checking out. She even knew how to pay with a "credit card." She swiped her little fingers down the reader. Wonder where she's seen that before??? Me maybe?
After we had successfully worn out all of the children, we traveled to Lexington to meet Joey and tour his new pediatric office. It won't be open until May but it looks great. I am so proud of my little brother. Wish we lived closer. We could visit "Dr. Uncle Joey."
On Saturday, we met Dad, Gail, Michael, Amy, Campbell, and Frances for lunch at Dukes barbeque. Our trip wouldn't be complete without at least one trip to get barbeque. Later that night, Jeff and I headed to Columbia for Albert and Donna's reception. It was fun. But I missed my kids. Max gave Mom a hard time. He really is a "Momma's boy" now.
On Sunday, we headed home and heard from Charlee, "Are we there yet?" about every 30 minutes. What a fun trip! Can't wait until the next one.
